Compiler
This dialog allows you to configure options for compiles within the RPGsp IDE.
Auto-Save on Compile
RPGsp does not require you to save the source of your RPG Smart Pages before compiling them. Check this box if you want RPGsp to automatically save your work before compiling any RPG Smart Page. This does NOT apply to:
Please note, RPGLE programs and modules must always be saved before compiling, whether the "Auto-Save on Compile" option is checked or not.
Do Not Download Compile Listing on Successful Compile
By default, RPGsp will download the compile listing after each successful or failed compile. Select this option if you would like RPGsp to download the compile listing only when there are compile errors.
Compile HTML Code into the RPG Object
By default, RPGsp places the HTML code of your page into the QCOMPILED file in your CGI library. At runtime, the RPGsp page reads the HTML from this file for output to the browser.
When this option is selected, RPGsp's compile process will embed HTML code directly into the RPG program object instead. This method offers better performance and easier deployment of RPGsp pages since there is only 1 object to move. However, the compiled object will be larger and compiles will take longer.
Compile Debugging View
This is the Debugging View specified on the CRTRPGMOD or CRTBNDRPG commands during compilation of RPG Smart Pages or traditional iSeries programs and modules. It specifies which level of debugging is available for the compiled program object. This option applies only to traditional iSeries debugging, and will not affect RPGsp's Integrated Visual Debugger.
The available options are:
Intermediary Source Location for RPGsp Pages
By default, the intermediary source code generated by RPGsp's compile process is not saved. If you would like to retain this source code, specify the library and file name where you would like to store the intermediary source. The specified source file must already exist on the system.
Retaining the intermediary source is useful for mass compiles from the command line or if you would like to use CL programs to compile multiple pages at once. The intermediary source can be compiled by first using CRTRPGMOD, then CRTPGM.
Compile Parameters
This option allows you set the parameters to be used with compile commands such as CRTRPGMOD and CRTPGM. To set compile options, select the appropriate source type from the drop down, and click the "Set Compile Parameters" button. This will launch the Compile Parameters dialog where the parameters can be set.
