Dayton, OH – October 8, 2003 -- Profound Logic Software commenced a new tool within its RPGsp Development Environment and Platform. The RPGsp Field Builder utility is capable of generating many types of data-bound input and output fields to place on an HTML page design.

RPGsp already allows developers to embed RPG variables and expressions within HTML documents, but building some of the more intricate types of controls and expressions has been somewhat of a challenge until now. Using the Field Builder, RPG developers can quickly create complicated types of fields including data-driven listboxes, pop-up selections, date fields with calendars, edit code fields, dynamic images, etc.

The Field Builder wizard asks RPG developers to specify several parameters about the type, style, and usage of fields, which offers more than a hundred combinations of data-driven elements. It then automatically creates the necessary RPG and HTML code. Developer can preview the result and make any necessary changes. The wizard can also generate code to declare the field as an RPG variable or load the field from an HTML form.
