Profound Logic Rises to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

August 22, 2014 - DAYTON, OH - Profound Logic Software, an innovator in the IBM i application modernization market, accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) - a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

CEO Alex Roytman was nominated by an employee to complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Individuals nominated to perform the challenge have two options: 1) record a video of pouring a bucket of ice over their heads and post it to social media with a challenge to others to raise awareness, while donating $10 to the cause, or 2) donate $100 to the ALS Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting ALS.

Mr. Roytman challenged his employees to join him in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The two Profound Logic offices, located in Ohio and California, and employees working remotely from Wisconsin and Mississippi participated in the event. "The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is probably one of the most powerful examples we've seen in recent history of people coming together for a common cause," says Roytman. "The challenge is fun but ALS is not, and by participating we can do something to make a difference for people suffering from this debilitating condition."

In addition to raising awareness, Profound Logic donated $400 to the ALS Association. The donation funds care services and research for people diagnosed with the disease. He now challenges leaders in the IBM i community to do the same
