Allan started working on the IBM i as a trainee RPG developer at the age of 17 years old, writing software to customer specifications. But he was also investing his own time in the platform, learning how to bridge the gap between IBM i and the world of open-source. At age 19, he was awarded the 2016 COMMON Student Innovation Award and became one of the youngest speakers to present sessions at the COMMON Annual Conference.
