April 10, 2009 - Profound Logic Software announces that it will be onsite at the COMMON Annual Meeting and Exposition to present hands-on labs, host educational IBM i sessions, and educate attendees on the benefits of modernization with Profound Logic's products. The conference will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, April 26 through April 30. Known as the most comprehensive IBM i educational event, the COMMOM annual conference lists five full days of in-depth IBM i and AIX education, including workshops, seminars, open labs and a wide variety of sessions for power systems professionals.

Profound Logic will present four educational sessions for conference members.

• Monday, April 27th: 11:00 AM - 1:45 PM
  "RPG Smart Pages (RPGsp) Web Development Lab"
  In this lab, developers will use the RPGsp Development Environment to create Web applications quickly. Using RPGsp's wizard-driven interface, attendees will build several types of applications including inquiries, drill-downs, file-maintenance applications, and forms. Attendees will learn how to customize the applications using HTML design and RPG coding skills.


• Wednesday, April 29th: 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM
  "Open Your i to a New World of Possibilities with Rich Internet Applications"
  This session will discuss what it takes to create powerful user interfaces on the IBM i and other platforms, and how to integrate the IBM i with other platforms by using Rich Internet Applications.


• Thursday, April 30th: 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM
  "Rapid Web Development with RPGsp"
  This session will explore the rapid development facilities within RPG Smart Pages (RPGsp). Attendees will learn how to build Web-based RPG/CGI inquiries, drill-downs, and forms with little or no programming.


• Thursday, April 30th: 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
  "Beyond Refacing: True Modernization with Genie"
  This session will demonstrate how to go beyond re-facing and transform your applications into true browser applications that make sense to today's users with Profound Logic's on-the-fly modernization solution, Genie.

In addition, Profound Logic plans to introduce several new additions to its suite of IBM i modernization products at the event. Details will be announced at a press conference held on Tuesday, April 28th.

Several of the company's representatives will also be present at the COMMON Exposition Hall in booth 503. They will be available to answer questions and provide live demonstrations of Profound Logic's modernization suite, including RPGsp for rapid web development and Genie for on-the-fly green-screen modernization. Additionally, Profound Logic will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary, and to commemorate this event will be giving away a free laptop, free cash cards, and other promotional giveaways throughout the exposition at the booth.

This year's event is once again hosting the COMMON/IBM Power Systems Innovation Awards, which showcases outstanding client achievements. In past years, Profound Logic submitted two of its customers for consideration and had the privilege to see both customers make it to the finals, with one winning the award. This year, Profound Logic hopes to repeat its success, and have submitted yet another customer success story for consideration.
