Liam Allan and Scott Klement Named 2018 IBM Champions

February 5, 2018 - Irvine, CA - (www.profoundlogic.com) Profound Logic Software, a leader in business application development and modernization solutions, is proud to announce that two key members of our team - Liam Allan and Scott Klement - have been selected as 2018 IBM Power Systems Champions.

An IBM Champion is an IT professional, business leader, developer, and educator who influences and mentors others to help them innovate and transform digitally with IBM software, solutions, and services. Scott and Liam were selected out of a pool of over 1400 candidates. Out of the finalists, 9% represent the Power Systems category.

About the Champions

Scott Klement is a well-known fixture in the IBM i community. He has 30 years of experience developing on midrange systems and is an IBM i development expert. He has written hundreds of articles about IBM i development and modernization and is a highly sought speaker at technical conferences and user groups around the world. Scott joined the Profound Logic product development team in 2012 and is now the Director of Product Development and Support.

"For many years, I've been in love with the IBM i platform and the community of professionals that surrounds it, so I'm very honored to be selected as an IBM Champion again," says Klement. "I look forward to see what unfolds for IBM i and Power Systems."

Liam Allan started working on the IBM i as a trainee RPG developer at only 17 years old. His interest in the platform led him to invest his own time bridging the gap between IBM i and the world of Open Source. At age 19, he was awarded the 2016 COMMON Student Innovation Award and became one of the youngest speakers to present sessions at the COMMON Annual Conference. He continues to speak at IBM i conferences throughout the world. Liam joined the Profound Logic team in 2016, and currently focuses on their Node.js and Open Source development products.

"I am very fortunate to be told I am an IBM Champion for another year," says Allan. "The IBM i community means a lot to me and I am excited to engage with everyone for another year, as well as develop more open-source code."

In addition to Liam and Scott, Profound Logic has been a magnet for other highly talented IBM i Champions and experts, including Brian May and Ted Holt.

"At Profound Logic, we're always looking for innovative and creative solutions to business development challenges," states Alex Roytman, CEO at Profound Logic. "Our products are only as good as the developers behind them. That's why we invest in the best and brightest stars in the IBM i community. We're incredibly proud to have Scott and Liam on our team, and are excited to see where their innovative spirit will lead us in the future!"
