View Menu
Design
Switches the active document to design view. Design view gives you a visual interface for maintaining and creating the html for a dynamic RPG Smart Page or a static HTML Page.
Code
Switches the active document to code view. Code view lets you edit or write HTML and/or RPG source code.
RPG Only
Switches the active document to RPG Only view. This view collapses the HTML into numbered sections for an overall view of the application logic. The contents of the HTML segments can be viewed in the Properties Window while in RPG Only view.
Preview
Switches the active document to preview mode. The preview is an approximation of how the document will look when executed.
Toolbars -> Standard
Hides or shows the Standard Toolbar.
The Standard Toolbar contains miscellaneous shortcuts to common pull-down menu options.
Toolbars -> Edit
Hides or shows the Edit Toolbar.
The Edit Toolbar contains tools for formatting text on an html page. It also contains a position to code drop-down box, which splits your source code into logical sections.
Status Bar
Shows or hides the status bar at the bottom of the development environment. The status bar displays the following useful information as you are working within the IDE:
Open Items Explorer
Shows or hides the Open Items Explorer. The Open Items Explorer shows you a tree of currently opened documents. The tree is subdivided into groups representing the document type. The active document is highlighted.
The Open Items Explorer also lets you quickly switch to any document by clicking on it, or perform various actions to the document by right-clicking it.
Properties Window
Shows or hides the Properties Window. The Properties Window displays and allows you to change HTML attributes of elements in design view or of html statements in code view.
Tag Selector Bar
Shows or hides the Tag Selector Bar. The Tag Selector Bar displays the HTML tag hierarchy, and allows you to position the editor and Properties Window to a specific tag by clicking on it in the bar.
Toolbox
Shows or hides the Toolbox. The Toolbox contains collapsible sections of shortcut icons for inserting elements into design view, inserting code snippets into code view, and other actions.
Compiler Output Window
Shows or hides the Compiler Output Window. The Compiler Output Window shows the result of compiled performed on RPG Smart Pages and ILE RPG source.
Database Repository
Shows or hides the Database Repository. The Database Repository allows you to retrieve and maintain properties of database files and fields. The Database Repository can also help you place fields onto your RPG Smart Pages.
Snippets Window
Shows or hides the Snippets Window. This window contains many useful snippets of RPG, HTML, and JavaScript code to perform a number of common tasks.
Detailed HTML Design View
Toggles detailed mode for the HTML designer. Detailed mode shows you extra symbols on the design canvas. The extra symbols include line break symbols, paragraph symbols, style container anchors, RPG script symbols, etc. Turning detailed mode off will give you a more precise WYSIWYG look.
Show Table Borders
Shows or hides a 1-pixel border in design view around elements that have an invisible border. The affected elements include Tables and <DIV> elements like Absolute Text or Absolute RPG Variables.
Snap To Grid
Determines an x/y invisible logical grid for placing and moving absolutely positioned elements. Absolute elements use an x/y pixel coordinate system for positioning elements instead of the HTML top-to-bottom flow system. Absolute elements utilize in-line style sheets to specify the x/y position of the element.
Code Ruler Bar
Shows or hides a ruler at the top of code view to demonstrate the format of the code being modified.
Line Numbers
Shows or hides the source code line numbers that appear in the editor.
